GRAND BAHAMA, BAHAMAS – As 2025 winds to a close, residents on Grand Bahama continue to press forward, holding on to the promise of brighter days ahead.

We reintroduce our Grand Bahama Port Authority series, City In Focus, now expanded with a broader look at the island, and a new name, The Grander View.

In this first installment, Our Megan Shepherd examines the year that was 2025, through the lens of the Grand Bahama Chamber of Commerce.

Grand Bahama Chamber of Commerce President Dillon Knowles confirms that, at this point, Carnival Celebration Key project is the only one to have materialized.

However, he says several other projects are in motion, particularly in the Freeport Harbour area.

When it comes to the country’s number one industry and one of Grand Bahama’s longest-running concerns, Knowles says residents are still waiting and watching with bated breath for clarity on the future of Grand Lucayan Resort.

And then there’s the ongoing situation at the International Airport, a project Knowles says they’re believing will happen by any means.

Knowles says there’s still more hope on the horizon.

And as for what the short term may hold, Knowles shares that outlook in the next edition of The Grander View.
