IRAN – Clashes erupted again Tuesday at Tehran’s Grand Bazaar, as video verified by Reuters showed protesters throwing gas canisters amid a heavy police presence.

Rights groups say at least 25 people have been killed, and more than 1,000 detained as protests over soaring inflation and a collapsing currency spread.

Iran’s police chief vowed to “deal with the last of these rioters.”

Meanwhile, Tasnim News Agency reports the government plans a monthly electronic stipend worth about seven U.S. dollars, to be used at select grocery stores.

The Iranian Rial fell further Tuesday, down 4% since the unrest began.
