NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Dozens gathered at Bahamas Harvest Church for the second annual National Women’s Empowerment Symposium, aimed at “strengthening the whole woman.”

Moderator Dr. Melissa Hall says the event took a non-traditional approach, offering access to resources covering finance, mental health, medical care and national policy initiatives.

The Eta Psi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated supported the event, aligning with its social justice and women’s health advocacy.

Under Secretary in the Ministry of Social Services Donette Williamson says the goal is to uplift and educate women and girls while strengthening justice-focused initiatives.

Organizers say the symposium is about building a community that drives meaningful change and impacts policy.
