SAN SALVADOR – The PLP sought to rally support in San Salvador on Friday night, just moments after Prime Minister Philip Davis held another rally in Cat Island.
Davis thanking residents for their continued support and confidence in his leadership.

“To come here is a different feeling. I’m not just speaking as Prime Minister, but as your very own member of parliament. You all have been with me on this journey from 1992, and I see so many faces here that began that journey with me. And I wanna thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support and continued confidence.”
The Prime Minister also highlighted on projects his administration said it has delivered over the past five years, including road works, school improvements, and housing initiatives.
Davis told his supporters that the government is preparing to sign a contract for renovations at San Salvador Central High School.

“Students are now able to take full advantage of their education, thanks to the laptops and tablets we supplied to support our students. Your refurbished playgrounds, with new equipment, help to support physical activity for the young people. We hope to continue the upgrades at United States Primary School, and very soon, in the contract with the Central San Salvador Central High School, to ensure our disadvantaged”
Davis also pointed to affordable housing projects, and said his administration has made home ownership a reality for some residents on the island.

“Our PLP government is also ensuring that you all have good quality, affordable housing. I have heard your calls, and in this term, we began a sustainable housing program. I’m pleased that we have some 10 homes ready.”
The Prime Minister added that work has begun to dredge the government marina, a project he said will improve access for larger vessels and enhance mailboat services.
We also spoke with residents who said they continue to support Davis and believe his administration has delivered development for San Salvador.

“An emergency wait on there, and by the time someone comes from down there to bring them uptown, you don’t know what could happen. The disaster could happen. But the clinic opening, first of all, the airport. I love how the airport is renovated. The airport was a disaster too, and it was small. Now I love how the airport do. And the school, the primary school, love it. Love it.”
