NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A supreme court judge has set bail at $30,000 for a senior policeman accused of murdering an American citizen.

51-year-old superintendent Berneil Pinder was off-duty when prosecutors allege he fatally shot 31-year-old Cody Castillo on March 21 following an argument outside of da Plantation Bar and Grill.

Castillo, a linesman at Pike Corporation, was shot inside the company’s truck and the incident was captured on the vehicle’s inside dash cam.

Pinder appeared before justice Renae Mckay for a bail application today.

As a condition of bail, Pinder has to wear an ankle bracelet, sign in three times a week, and keep a curfew.
