NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A 33-year-old faces vehicular manslaughter charges after a car crash killed his wife.

Prosecutors say John Sands was driving his 2007 Nissan Bluebird west along West Bay Street around 10 pm on April 30, when he lost control and hit a tree in the median.

His wife, Lashonna Sands, who was the front seat passenger, died in the collision.

Investigations revealing that Sands’ car was not licensed or insured against third party risk and had failed to transfer the ownership of the car.
