NASSAU, BAHAMAS – For four decades, Commonwealth Brewery Limited (CBL) has built more than brands and businesses, as it has also built people.

Behind the company’s growth is a workforce that has spent years, and in some cases decades, learning, leading, and passing knowledge on to the next generation.

Meanwhile as CBL looks to the future, the company says investing in Bahamian talent remains at the heart of its success.

Human Resources Director Paul Haven says that commitment means looking beyond the job an employee has today, and creating opportunities for where they can go tomorrow.

Finance Director Gary Lewis says that investment in people, alongside growth and infrastructure, has been key to CBL’s success over the last 40 years.

For many employees, that journey has spanned decades, creating a wealth of experience that can be passed on.

Retired Brewing Manager Ricardo Roberts says succession planning has been critical to making sure that knowledge doesn’t leave with the people who built it.

So, for the next generation, that legacy creates room for opportunity.

Tameka Smith is one example, making history as one of the few female brewing managers in CBL’s history.
