NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A dazzling drone show, a blazing fire pit, an extensive selection of dishes offering desserts, champagne, and more were all highlights of the Bahamas Culinary & Arts Festival marquee event.

Friday evening’s taste of Baha Mar was a haven for hundreds of food and beverage connoisseurs.

Considered the marquee event of the Bahamas Culinary & Arts Festival, the celebration took place on the property’s Jasmine Lawn and showcased the resort’s restaurants.

Each station was a demonstration of culinary expertise, with chefs executing the finest cooking techniques, infusing their distinctive character throughout the venue.

However, Carna’s station by internationally acclaimed butcher Dario Cecchini was a definite must-see.

“Fantastico, fantastico. It’s my dream. Carna, Carna.”

Social media food critic Greg Armbrister said this year’s ratings far exceeded previous years.

“I think Baha Mar does a great job at executing and going above and beyond what they have done. I think they really take the feedback from previous years and they always try to implement and try to add new ideas.”

Managing Director for Scotia Bank Bahamas Roger Archer said Baha Mar’s dedication to maintaining excellence is the reason the company continues to invest in the festival as the title sponsor.

“This exceeded my expectations you know, when you compare to last year this has been a step up, the food is excellent, we expect the music to be even more phenomenal this year as well.”

Being said, music was provided by both international and local acts.

First to hit the event stage was local performer Stazzie with a unique melody of song covers that blended pop, rock, R&B and Junkanoo.

Following her performance, emerging from a mist of smoke was the event’s headliner, Grammy-nominated pop rock band One Republic.

However, there was one performer that was inconspicuous, yet his energetic presence was prominent – DJ Nyuszi.

“Playing at a resort like Baha Mar you have people from around the world so you got to play a little bit of everything.”
