RUSSIA – Russian President Vladamir Putin taking a major step toward shoring up his position in the war with Ukraine. He was expected to sign the laws on the annexation of four regions in Ukraine Tuesday.

If approved it would be a violation of international law. It comes as Moscow reportedly loses full control of some key regions.

Ukrainian forces are breaking through Moscow’s defenses in the south with more areas reportedly liberated every day.

These gains on the Ukrainian side are amidst growing concerns that Putin will escalate the war by using tactical weapons.

Among the possible U.S. responses, is tougher sanctions according to U.S. Secretary Of State Anthony Blinken.
