Bahamian NBA Stars Returned to Action Last Night

Buddy Hield

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Buddy Hield and his Indiana Pacers defeated the New Orleans Pelicans 129-122.

Hield scored 20 points, grabbed 5 rebounds and 3 assists. He also continues to show that he’s one of the league’s elite three-point threats as he went 5 of 13 from beyond the arc.

Despite the relatively close score, the game was never in-doubt as the Pacers began the game on a 9-0 run and led by as much as 13 in the 3rd quarter.

Center Myles Turner had a monster night, scoring 37 points and grabbing 12 rebounds while Tyrese Halliburton scored 20 points and dished out 13 assists.

For the Pels, Zion Williamson had 26 points , 7 rebounds and 7 assists and Evan Ingram led the team with 29 points.

The win is the Pacers’ 2nd straight and it leaves them sitting at 5-5. They take on the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday.

Buddy continues to make three-pointers at an incredible volume and percentage. Tonight’s game leaves him in second place for three pointers made behind Stephen Curry, the greatest three-point shooter of all time.

Deandre Ayton and his Phoenix Suns lost to the Philadelphia 76ers 100-88. Ayton had a pedestrian 17 points and 7 rebounds, while Devin Booker led the Suns in scoring with 28.

Deandre Ayton

Ayton had a long night on the block guarding Joel Embiid who did it all, scoring 33 points, grabbing 10 rebounds and dishing out 5 assists. Embiid physically dominated the Bahamian 7-footer, going to the free-throw line 16 times, converting all of his attempts.

Forward Tobias Harris added 21 points for the Sixers, with 8 rebounds and 6 assists while Georges Niang added another 21 off the bench, all coming from the three-point line.

The Minnesota Timberwolves are up next for the Suns on Wednesday.

Look for Ayton go bounce back in a big way with defensive stopper Rudy Gobert out leaving Karl Anthony Towns to roam the paint. Towns isn’t nearly the defender that Gobert is or the physically punishing post player that Embiid is.
