NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A major theatre arts center in Grand Bahama is preparing to reopen its doors to the public in just a few days. Tonight, the president of the Freeport Players Guild says after lots of hard work he is pleased that performing arts can return to its full potential.

President of the Freeport Players’ Guild Preston Knowles expressing his gratitude to the community for their support over the past three years.

Hurricane Dorian caused significant damaged resulting in entertainment coming to a halt at the theater.

While more equipment is still needed. The president says the building can now effectively carry out productions thanks to several partners including the Grand Bahama Port Authority who donated $60,000. 

A grand re-opening will be held on December 9th at the theatre. Director and Public Relations for the Freeport Players Guild Desiree Joseph says it will be the first show on their newly rebuilt stage.
