NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A new industrial agreement between the Airport, Airline and Allied Workers Union and the Airport Authority has been years in the making, according to Public Service Union President, Kimsley Ferguson.

Ferguson signed on behalf of the union, Wednesday morning, noting relief that the new agreement has been secured.

He explains it has been in the works across administrations, and even had to be resubmitted, after it expired.

By virtue of its status and as official legal entity of the Government of The Bahamas, the Airport Authority (the Authority) in 2007 entered into an agreement with the Nassau Airport Development Company Limited to build, operate and maintain the Lynden Pindling International Airport. The Airport Authority is mandated to ensure the safety of each airport user.

Just last month, the AAAWU signed a new industrial agreement with Nassau Flight Services.
