NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The Bahamas Swim Team returns to an adoring home crowd The Bahamas Track and Field Team finished up an impressive CARIFTA showing. 

The 50th CARIFTA track and field meet is all wrapped up after the final day of competition Monday.  

The 50th edition of CARIFTA is now in the books and we have your final day recap.

The CARIFTA Track and Field Games wrapped up its final day of competition at the Thomas A. Robinson Stadium. 

The final medal count: Jamaica on top with 68 medals, The Bahamas in second with 41 medals and Trinidad and Tobago in third with 22 medals. 

The start of the final day saw Kamera Strachan set a new CARIFTA and national record in the under 17 javelin throw. She says defeat in last year’s games propelled her to success this year. 

Then there was Adam Musgrove, who pressed to the line to win the bronze in the under 20 boys 200 metres. 

Then the high point of the day – Jamiah Nabbie fresh off of her gold medal performance in the under 17 girls 100 metres snagging another gold in the under 17 girls 200 metres with a time of 23.67. 

The Bahamas officially handed over the games flag which will be held in Grenada next year.
