Tum Tum Joins Bowling Green Staff

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – New Providence-born Lourawls “Tum tum” Nairn was an almost mythical figure during his four years as a point guard at Michigan state.

After he graduated, he opted to pursue a career as a coach, working his way up from high school to the small college ranks.

Yesterday, he announced via social media that he was leaving Southern Utah University to coach at Bowling Green State University in Kentucky, following former SUU Head Coach Todd Simon.

Coach Nairn helped Southern Utah achieve a 24-13 record, finishing 2nd in the big sky and making it to the quarterfinals of the college basketball invitational tournament.

Now they’re going to try to rescue a bowling green program that struggled to an 11 and 20 record, good for 9th in the mid-american conference.

Best of luck to coach Nairn as he tries to turn the bowling green program around.

Ub Mingoes Golf Squad Returns

The UB Mingoes golf team recently embarked on a tour in Florida.

The men’s and women’s teams competed at the St. Thomas Invitational in Miami lakes.

Although the team was a bit on the younger side, playing on a new course, they managed to put up some respectable scores.

Head Coach Frederick Taylor lauded his team’s mental toughness.

Thompson Breaks Decathalon Record

Mingoes alum Kendrick Thompson set a national record in the decathalon at the mount san Antonio college relays in walnut, California.

Thompson came 4th in the event with a score of 8015 points, breaking the record held by Ken Mullings who was right behind him in 5th place.

He also became the first bahamian to break the 8000-point mark.

A virtuoso performance for the kid from central Andros.
