CONCACAF Beach Soccer Champs Begin

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The CONCACAF Beach Soccer Championships have begun right here in New Providence.

The CONCACAF Beach Soccer Championships began today at the National Beach Soccer Arena.

So far, we know that Panama played Trinidad, the USA played the Dominican Republic and Costa Rica played Guadalupe.

El Salvador also played Costa Rica and Mexico played their neighbours Belize. And, The Bahamas is playing Guatemala.

Admission is free for everyone and The Bahamas will play at 7:30PM today, tomorrow, and Wednesday. After that, the tournament moves on to the playoff rounds.

So, be sure to get out there to cheer on team 242.

The Bahamas Rugby semifinal match was scheduled for this past Sunday in Freeport, Grand Bahama.

However, that match was postponed due to to logistical issues. The new date for the match is this Saturday, May 13th.

The Cuckoos from Nassau will play against Freeport RFC for a spot in the finals in Nassau against a combined squad of players from the Bucaneers and Bailou.

The match will coincide with the Youth Rugby Festival.

Finally, Deandre Ayton of the Phoenix Suns and Klay Thompson of the Golden State Warriors are both embroiled in heated playoff battles.

Deandre Ayton and Klay Thompson are mired in a couple of hotly contested playoff series.

Ayton’s Pheonix Suns tied their series with the Denver Nuggets at 2 and 2 yesterday with Ayton scoring only 8 points and grabbing 8 rebounds while surrendering a 53-point -11 rebound game to Nikola Jokic.

Kevin Durant and Devin Booker led the Suns to the win with 36 points apiece.

Meanwhile, Klay Thompson’s Warriors fell to 2-1 against the Los Angeles Lakers.

Klay struggled in Game 3 on Saturday scoring 15 points on 5 of 14 shooting.

Anthony Davis dominated inside scoring 25 points and grabbing 13 rebounds.
Klay and the Dubs will try to bounce back in their next game.
