NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Many have brought up the cost of King Charles III’s coronation celebrations possibly costing around £100 million.

The Centre for Economics and Business Research estimates a boost of over £300 million from the extra tourism and spending in pubs this weekend.

We asked British High Commissioner to The Bahamas, Thomas Hartley about the economic benefits of royalty recently, and while royal visits can have a steep price tag, he tells us it was great export value for both countries.

He also highlights the American interest in the British Royal Family, and as Americans are just a flight away from us here in The Bahamas, we can benefit from the tourism opportunities that stem from U.S. Visitors wanting to visit places significant to the monarchy.
