NASSAU, BAHAMAS – With the Bahamian embassy back open in Haiti, Minister of Foreign Affairs Fred Mitchell is commenting on potential Bahamian assistance to those effected by the earthquake that occurred around 5 Tuesday morning in Bonbon, Haiti.

He says for now, they’re still awaiting the full report on the earthquake.

When asked for more about what that help would look like, Mitchell is quick to point out that action would need to be approved by cabinet.

He adds that depending on how extensive other international aid offers spread, The Bahamas may not need to step in at all.
