NASSAU, BAHAMAS – On this day in Bahamian history in 1966 – an Act of Parliament was passed incorporating the Telecommunications Department. It was named the Bahamas Telecommunications Corporation (BaTelCo). The company would later become known as BTC.

The in 2007 – at the French Open, Bahamian Mark Knowles and his partner Daniel Nestor of Canada won the Men’s Doubles championship defeating Lukas Dlouhy and Pavel Vizner of the Czech Republic 2-6, 6-3, 6-4.
