NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The Commonwealth 13th Women’s Affairs Ministers Meeting opening in grand style at the Atlantis Grand Ballroom. 

The three-day, international meeting will be held under the theme “Equality Towards A Common Future”. 

Commonwealth leaders, civic organizations and youth groups coming together as Bahamian talent was on full display for nations around the world.

Highlighting the accomplishments and achievements of bahamian women that have played significant roles in the country’s development. 

Leaders from around the world will be in high-level discussions as the commonwealth countries seek to push the advancement of women and girls. 

Previous chair country, Kenya giving this advice as The Bahamas now takes the post for the next three years.

Prime Minister Philip Davis also urging leaders to maximize the time and opportunity to exchange ideas and lay the foundation for more effective policy solutions.

Secretary General of the Commonwealth Secretariat Patricia Scotland noting the 56 nations that comprise the commonwealth, make up one-third of the world’s population. 

She says when we come together, we are a force for good in the world. 

The evening also featuring a medley by the talents Sweet Emily, Fanshawn Evans and Alia Coley and a Junkanoo rush out by the reigning champs, One Family Junkanoo group.
