NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The introduction of medicinal cannabis has sparked buzz around the country, particularly in the agriculture community.

With this comes the need for the marijuana plant to be grown. Agriculture Minister Jomo Campbell says farmers are excited.

Last month, Attorney General Ryan Pinder introduced the government’s proposed legislation for a cannabis bill.

So far the proposed bill will allow for doctors to prescribe cannabis for medicinal use as well as a sacrament for religious beliefs.

Despite the excitement, Campbell notes the importance of doing things the right way.
