NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A man who allegedly killed his father is seeking to be freed on bail.

Mario Cash Jr is charged with murder concerning the stabbing death of  51-year-old Mario Cash Sr.

Cash’s bail application was heard by Justice Gregory Hilton exactly one month after he allegedly committed the crime.

His lawyer Ian Cargill argued that Cash was acting in self-defense after his father attacked him at his condo at Venetian West on January 1.

Prosecutor Bradford McKenzie objected to bail, saying Cash’s American citizenship made him a flight risk.

Justice Hilton will give his decision on February 8.
