Man Accused of Murdering Omar Davis Jr. Takes Plea Deal

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The man accused of the murder of Omar Davis Jr in 2022 has taken a plea deal. Normand Toussaint today pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of manslaughter. 

Pursuant to the agreement, Justice Franklyn Williams KC sentenced Toussaint to 15 years’ imprisonment, less the time he’s spent in custody. 

The court heard that on August 15, 2022, Davis went to visit Toussaint at his home at Orchard’s Terrace.

While there, the pair got into an argument and Toussaint stabbed Davis multiple times, killing him. Then, Toussaint put Davis’ body in bags, which he put in the trunk of Davis’ car. 

The vehicle was abandoned in bushes near the Caribbean Liquor Store on East Avenue, where Toussaint worked. The police found the car and Davis’ remains the following day. 

Davis had recently graduated from Central State University with a double degree in accounting and finance. 

He overcame the odds after witnessing his father’s murder at age 12.
