UNITED STATES – It was a busy night for Bahamians in baseball.

Jazz Chisholm picked up a base hit, going 1 for 4 to help his team pick up a 3-0 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks.

The only Bahamian to ever coach in the majors, Antoan Richardson’s New York Mets fell to his former team, the San Francisco giants 8-7.

And in the minors, Bj Murray had a hit and an rbi as his Iowa Cubs got a big win over Indiana 13-0.

Track & Field

A couple of Bahamian college athletes are headed to the NCAA national meet.

Defending javelin champ Rhema Otabor of the University of Nebraska is on a roll. She repeated as big 10 javelin champ a couple of weeks ago, and now she’ll try to defend her national title.

She qualified for nationals after finishing second in the NCAA preliminary round at the University of Arkansas on Thursday.

Anthaya Charlton, who has a pretty famous sister that you may have heard of named Devynne, is also headed to Nationals. She finished second in the long jump with a bound of 6.31 meters.
