NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The announcement of an upcoming song competition is causing concern for one Bahamian recording artist. The modest prize is sparking controversy in the music industry. According to Terneille “Tada” Burrows, she believes it’s an insult to artists like herself.

The “Tourism is Everyone’s Business” song competition, intended to showcase the diverse musical talents of The Bahamas, has seemingly backfired. Burrows voices her disappointment, saying it’s disheartening to see Bahamian talent reduced to such paltry rewards. Tada is known for her catchy hooks and jingles, and as an award-winning artist who has performed with numerous international artists, she says music production costs aren’t cheap. She urges the facilitators of the competition to do their due diligence when it comes to the music business.
