GRAND BAHAMA, BAHAMAS – Grand Bahamian pilots are up in arms about an increase in inbound and outbound fees for aircrafts.

This change will come into effect on July 1st. The pilots say they believe this will have a negative impact on the aviation sector.

These pilots say they are disappointed in the recent increase of international inbound and outbound fees as they say it amounts to a 500 percent increase.

Private pilot Ricardo Munnings say the inbound and outbound fees for him was originally 50 dollars But now, it’s 150 dollars which is a total of 300 dollars per flight.

Pilot Jamaal Johnson says there was also an increase in departure tax earlier this year and this is yet another blow.

Munnings shares says some people may think the issue is insignificant but, some owners of these aircraft may see the increases as an extra burden.

Munnings is also questioning the fees associated with the amount of seats on an aircraft.
