NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Coalition of Independents leader Lincoln Bain is criticizing the new 25-year deal between Bahamas Power and Light and Bahamian company Island Grid. Bain, along with dozens of supporters, gathered outside the House of Assembly this morning to voice their concerns.

Last week, the government announced its plans to reform the country’s energy sector. The plan includes a partnership with Bahamian company Island Grid to modernize the electrical grid.

Under the deal, the government will contribute its New Providence T&D assets, valued at $100 million, in exchange for 40 percent of the shares.

This is something COI leader Lincoln Bain questions.

Bain also called out FNM leader Michael Pintard. He says it’s time to do the job he’s being paid to do and speak up.
