MISSOURI – A Missouri judge overturned Christopher Dunn’s conviction on Monday, freeing him after 30 years in prison for a murder he has always claimed he didn’t commit.

The 52 year old was serving a life sentence without parole for the 1990 killing of 15-year-old Ricco Rogers.

St. Louis circuit judge Jason Sengheiser’s decision followed a hearing where new evidence supported Dunn’s claim of innocence.

The Missouri Attorney General’s office, which opposed the ruling, says it plans to appeal.
