Group Protests Over Crown Land

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The issue of crown land taking center stage, with dozens of protestors picketing outside the Office of the Prime Minister.

Nearly 100 people protesting in front of the Office of The Prime Minister today against what they say is the legal Bahamian right to crown land. The group says illegal migrants are burning down forests in Southern New Providence.

Advocate Lincoln Bain says crown land belongs to all Bahamians and their group is willing to take this matter as far as the Privy Council.

Attorney Maria Daxon shares similar sentiments, noting former Prime Minister Hubert Ingraham prepared a document explaining 3.45 million acres of crown land are available in The Bahamas.
