NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Two drug dealers have been jailed in relation to a 2017 cocaine seizure. Desno Scott and Avery Sargent were convicted of drug possession with intent to supply.

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Two drug dealers have been jailed in relation to a 2017 cocaine seizure. Desno Scott and Avery Sargent were convicted of drug possession with intent to supply.

The conviction stems from a drug seizure on January 10.

Acting on a tip, officers from the Drug Enforcement Unit, went to Skyline Drive.

After looking in the direction of the officers, Sargent allegedly ran from a car holding a bag and into bushes.

He was arrested after a brief foot chase and the officers found five kilos of cocaine.

Scott was arrested after police found 12 kilos of cocaine in the car.

Magistrate Samuel McKinney sentenced Scott to four years in prison. He’ll spend an extra year in jail if he doesn’t pay a $30,000 fine.

Sargent was sentenced to three years and six months in prison. His jail sentence will be extended by six months if the fine is not paid.
