Resident: Younger People Don’t See The Need to Get Married

And while divorce rates are up as well, some people aren’t opting to get married at all. The “never married” group increased by 18.2 percent compared to 2010.

Janet Fowler also says she feels like the struggling marriage statistics could be an indication of the bahamian public straying further from christian principles.

As for the decline in birth rates, she says we are selfish.

“I don’t need that you know what and the examples that are around us,” she said.
