NASSAU, BAHAMAS – In the past, The Bahamas has only had one Chevening Scholar selected each year, but this year, four young women were selected as this year’s cohort.

British High Commissioner Thomas Hartley says there will also be four scholarships up for grabs in the upcoming round, and he hopes to see more Family Islanders in the running for the opportunity.

While the process can seem daunting, Hartley says they’re working on workshops and creating a buddy system where Chevening alumni help applicants through the process.

And while travel to Nassau can often prevent Family Island participation in opportunities, Hartley says a benefit is all starts by applying online through www.chevening.org.

And that interviewing section of the selection process is what sets Chevening apart.
