GRAND BAHAMA, BAHAMAS – Just hours before Mother’s Day, a double tragedy striking the community of West Grand Bahama.

What many consider to be a routine activity, turned to heartbreak. Police receiving calls regarding two males in distress at the Bayside area of Sunset Village shortly after 3:30pm. Upon arrival, Chief Superintendent Wil Hart, says officers met rough seas and a strong current. However, without hesitation, they courageously entered the dangerous waters in an urgent effort to save the young men.

However, the tragic event was compounded as another life was lost within the Martin Hill community as additional officers rushed to the scene on Bayshore road.

Minister for Grand Bahama, Ginger Moxey, on scene, offering her prayers and condolences to all impacted.

Area Member of Parliament, Kingsley Smith adding the hurt of the loss will be felt throughout the entire community.
