GRAND BAHAMA, BAHAMAS – It’s a heart wrenching story. A Grand Bahama mother and father are searching for their twenty-eight year old son Shaquille Ferguson, who was last seen in waters off West Grand Bahama almost two weeks ago. Despite being missing for weeks, his parents say they still have hope that their son is alive.

Natasha Ferguson, the mother of twenty-eight-year-old Shaquille Ferguson describes how hopeless and helpless she feels since the disappearance of her son.

She says it was during a trip to New Providence when she got the call that every mother dreads. Her son was missing.

Ferguson says she was told that he attended a party the night before he went missing. And, at that party he was drinking alcohol and smoking marijuana.

Ferguson adds that there were several sightings of him in waters near Eight Mile Rock by people shortly after his disappearance on October 8th. The people claim that he had on goggles and was in a small boat that did not have a motor.

She says the police, the Bahamas Air and Sea Rescue Association, family, as well as, members in the community have been searching for him. However, she says, unfortunately, the boat and plane search has ended.

But, the mother admits that Shaquille was not well mentally, adding that he has an addiction to marijuana. But, overall she calls him a great son.

And his dad, Luther Ferguson says he is hopeful that his son is still alive.
