NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Miss Teen Mundial Bahamas Chloe Walters is preparing to take on the international stage in El Salvador, but before she heads off, she stopped by for a quick chat, giving our Chinasa Outten the exclusive.

“A lot of people think that people from the Caribbean islands aren’t able to excel in pageants or international pageants because it’s not as prioritized. I think that it should be, because pageantry really pushes people out there to do community service and help a lot.”

“With me being in a pageant, I know how difficult it is to always be in every single school at every single event just to lend a helping hand.”

For Chloe, the crown comes with a purpose.

Through her platform, S.L.A.Y. Self Love and You, she’s encouraging young people to build confidence, embrace who they are and recognize their worth.

“I’ve realized that in the Caribbean now, there’s a lot of youth that go throughout their lives without even knowing what it means to have self-love, so I made it my duty to teach that.”

Meanwhile, she’ll be competing thousands of miles from home.

She also says that she’ll carry the spirit of The Bahamas with her every step of the way, knowing she has a nation rooting for her.

“I know that The Bahamas will be proud of me regardless of anything, because we all know that we’re all a family, all together, regardless of what your last name is, what your first name is, what school you went to.”

“I think that all Bahamians see each other as some sort of family.”

As a former pageant queen myself, I know just how much heart, discipline and dedication it takes to step onto an international stage, and we’ll certainly be cheering Chloe on as she represents The Bahamas in El Salvador.
