UNITED STATES – U.S. federal agents have arrested four suspects in Florida for their alleged roles in the plot that led to the 2021 assassination of Haitian President Jovenel Moise.

Moise’s murder left a political vacuum in the Caribbean nation with powerful gangs now controlling large parts of the country’s capital, Port-au-Prince.

Eleven individuals are now in U.S. custody in connection with the murder, according to the U.S. Attorney Markenzy Lapointe.

The new defendants include – Antonio “Tony” Intriago, Arcangel Pretel Ortiz, Walter Veintemilla, and Frederick Bergmann, all accused of conspiring in the plot.
