EXUMA, BAHAMAS – A 60 million dollar project to upgrade 60 miles of road on Exuma is steadily progressing. The massive work is made possible by a public-private partnership. Senior government officials and company executives inspected the work done so far.

A public-private partnership between the government and Bahamas Striping Group of Companies making way for infrastructure and over 50 miles of road improvements on Exuma.

The project is also a major source of jobs.

On the ground today, Bahamas Striping Group of Companies Managing Director Alan Albury who expects the road project to be completed by 2024.

But, amid inflation and supply chain challenges, due to the ongoing Russian war in Ukraine, Albury says they’ve run into some difficulties.

Works and Utilities Minister Alfred sears also among senior government officials on Exuma today, revealing the installation of drains and road elevation to mitigate flooding.

The public-private partnership between the government and BSGC also making way for upgrades to the track at the L.N. Coakley high school, with bleachers and bathrooms also being constructed.

The works are pegged at $250,000 and is set to be completed by December and ready for use by Fall 2023.

Officials also touring the asphalt plant and telling reporters that work on the project starts at 5AM daily to ensure the work gets done.
