Government Breaks Grown On $200M Ritz Carlton Reserve Development

ELEUTHERA, BAHAMAS – Groundbreaking of the Ritz Carlton Reserve at Cotton Bay, Eleuthera is a major development for South Eleuthera, and Prime Minister Philip Davis, along with top government officials, say the development is expected to provide more than 500 jobs in total and provide a significant boost to that island’s economy.

Prime Minister Philip Davis says it’s a more than $200 million dollar investment in the South Eleuthera community.

The Ritz Carlton Reserve at Cotton Bay in South Eleuthera is the first major tourism development project approved by the Davis administration.

Officials also say the investment represents confidence in the Bahamian economy and is already employing 30 Bahamians.

That number is expected to increase significantly.

Prime Minister Philip Davis stressed the importance of Bahamian involvement in this project.

The Ritz-Carlton Reserve brand is the ultimate in luxury.

It will boast 110 rooms, 40 villas, a golf course, restaurants, and other amenities.

The 320-acre development will take approximately three years to complete.

It will provide 200 construction jobs and 300 full-time jobs once completed.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism Chester Cooper says the project has been decades in the making, adding it will bode well for the local economy.
