ELEUTHERA , BAHAMAS – There is a two-constituency race in Eleuthera, with highly contested battles in the north and south of the island.

Inclement weather did not dampen the process in Eleuthera.

The race for North Eleuthera solidified at the Administrator’s Office in Harbour Island.

Incumbent PLP candidate, Sylvanus Petty, is confident he will secure a second term.

His challenger, FNM candidate Howard Rickey Mackey, is looking to regain the seat he lost in the last election, saying his motivation is family.

Coalition of Independents candidate, Natasha Mitchell, is now officially on the ballot with hopes of addressing specific improvements.

In Central and South Eleuthera, PLP incumbent Clay Sweeting, showed up with a full cadre of supporters at the Administrator’s Office in Rock Sound.

His campaign strategy is to continue building on his first term.

One of two challengers, Bekera Grant-Taylor of the COI, arrived in high spirits with supporters, promising to focus on land reform.

Rounding out the Central and South Eleuthera slate was Philipa Kelly, flanked by a nomination day staple.

Her focus is on listening to voters to better understand their needs.
