PLP Addresses Electricity and Water Woes at Eleuthera Rally

NORTH ELEUTHERA, BAHAMAS – Horns blazing and flags waving – the scene at Tuesday night’s Rally for Progress in Savannah Sound, Eleuthera.

Longley Newberry Park came alive as residents heard from several PLP candidates, including incumbent Member of Parliament for Central and South Eleuthera, Clay Sweeting.

Sweeting touts his accomplishments since coming to office, including miles of paved roads, securing the Ritz Carlton Reserve, improved docks and airport redevelopments, calling it a proof of progress.

He also addressed the longstanding issue of potable water in Eleuthera.

Additionally, for the past few years, the island has been plagued with power and water woes, sometime weeks at a time from Gregory Town in the north to Savannah Sound in the south.

PLP incumbent for Carmichael, Keith Bell, also acknowledged a few issues in Eleuthera last night.

Bahamian performers also took the stage, bringing the energy to the crowd.

Then, rounding off the night was PLP Leader, and Prime Minister Philip Davis, outlining housing plans for Eleuthera if re-elected.
