TURKS & CAICOS ISLANDS – About 13,000 Turks and Caicos Islands citizens are set to receive a one-time $500 cost of living relief payment – a $6.5 million package government says is intended to provide immediate relief to households struggling with higher fuel costs and the cost of living.

The initiative will go to eligible British overseas territories citizens (BOTCS) and Turks and Caicos Islands status holders.

The one-off payment is part of a broader package, including reductions in import duties on a range of breadbasket and essential food items under the 2026-2027 budget, increased funding and support through social welfare programs, continued assistance through NIB for unemployed and furloughed workers who qualify, and the ongoing Financial Assistance Programme for residents aged 70 and over.
