NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Accused murder-for-hire housewife Lindsay Shiver is seeking to have the charges against her dropped on a technicality.

Shiver is charged alongside her alleged lover, Terence Bethel, and alleged hitman Faron Newbold Jr, in relation to a 2023 plot to kill her estranged husband, American insurance executive Robert Shiver, in Abaco.

But Shiver’s lawyer, Terrel Butler, argues that the court doesn’t have the power to hear her case because she wasn’t in The Bahamas at the time of the alleged conspiracy.

That’s why Butler says the charge against Shiver should be dismissed.

Senior Justice Cheryl Grant-Thompson will hear the application on July 31.

Prosecutors allegedly discovered the conspiracy while investigating the theft of $20,000 from a bar on Guana Cay.

Bethel, who’s a bartender at the bar, was questioned concerning the break-in and theft.

The officers allegedly found messages that prosecutors say detailed the murder plot.
