Bahamas Falls To TCI In Goombay Cup

NASSAU, THE BAHAMAS – Team Bahamas fell 3-1 to our neighbors, Turks and Caicos, Friday in match one of the Goombay Cup.

Grace Russell scored the only goal for the home team.

Edna Jeanty provided all of TCI’s offenses. She had a hat trick.

The U.S. Virgin Islands also played Bermuda to a 2-2 stalemate.

And Cayman ran roughshod over Grenada, beating them 7-0.

Ari Eden had a hat trick to lead Cayman.

Baseball

Coach Antoan Richardson and the Atlanta Braves pulled out a 7-6 victory over the Baltimore Orioles in extra innings.

Matt Olson and Drake Baldwin both hit home runs. Olson’s was a three-run shot in the 10th to power the Braves to the win.

Jazz Chisholm sat out last night against the Philadelphia Phillies. His New York Yankees won 1-0. They’ll take the win, however they can get it.

Down in the minors, Sebastian Walcott is back from his injury like he never left.

The Texas Rangers’ top prospect went 4-5 with 3 singles, a double, 3 runs, and two rbi to help his double-a Frisco Rough Riders get a 10-0 win over the San Antonio Missions.
