MAYAGUANA, BAHAMAS – Twenty-one evacuees who were taken from Mayaguana to Exuma are back home as power and water have been restored on that island, following Hurricane Fiona’s passing.

The news comes following an assessment on the southern island Wednesday afternoon, led by Acting Prime Minister Chester Cooper.

Among the damage on the island was the main dock, where the mail boat unloads essential supplies.

Cooper says the focus now is on the immediate needs of residents.
