NEMA: Hurricane Ian Caused Minimal Damage

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Hurricane Ian damaged the roof at a healthcare facility in Bimini, according to NEMA Director Captain Stephen Russell.

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Hurricane Ian damaged the roof at a healthcare facility in Bimini, according to NEMA Director Captain Stephen Russell.

Russell says there was also flooding in Alice town, Bimini. He says there seems to be a drain issue as well.

As for Grand Bahama, Russell says there is debris throughout parts of the island, adding that there also seems to be a power supply issue.

Shelters on both islands have been deactivated.
