Former Youth Pastor Gets Eight Years In Sex Abuse Case

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – 33-year-old Colton Albury has been sentenced to eight years in prison for sexually abusing a minor.

Albury wiped away tears as senior Justice Bernard Turner delivered the sentence.

A jury on July 7, convicted Albury of two counts of indecent assault and two counts of unlawful sexual intercourse.

Albury, an orphan, met his victim’s family through a church outreach program.

He moved in with the family at age 16 and lived with them for 18 months.

However, he betrayed the family’s trust by molesting their then 12-year-old daughter, who viewed him as a brother, in 2016 and in 2017 when she was 13.

At the time, Albury was 28 and married with two children.

The court heard how Albury inappropriately touched the young girl on the pretext of tickling her.

Turner sentenced Albury to four years for the indecent assault and eight years for unlawful sexual intercourse.

The sentences will run together and take effect from his conviction date.
