GRAND BAHAMA, BAHAMAS – An historic building in Grand Bahama is gone following another demolition exercise by the Grand Bahama Port Authority. This as the GBPA is focusing on maintaining the image of the city and is calling on other property owners to do the same.

Renardo Karageorgiou, Assistant City Manager at GBPA says they wants to ensure the appearance of the City of Freeport is maintained.

The Honda Cycles building has been a part of Queens Highway for decades, but now it is no more.

He says it’s also GBPA’s goal to stabilize property value throughout the city.

The assistant city manager says over the years they have spent thousands of dollars to conduct the demolition exercises, and there are a number of buildings that are eyesores on Queens Highway.

And there are a few other areas on the GBPA’s list to demolish in the inner-city community.
