NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Another member of the Free National Movement weighing in on what seems to be an ongoing war in the party. Former Deputy Prime Minister Desmond Bannister says the party will unite when the time is right.

Amid what seems to be ongoing turmoil in the Free National Movement, former Deputy Prime Minister and FNM Cabinet Minister Desmond Bannister was asked if he supports the current leadership of the party.

The former Carmichael MP’s comments come amid what seems to be a fight for leadership in the party.

Recently, it was reported that the party’s leadership said former Prime Minister Dr. Hubert Minnis is not to address association meetings, however, Dr. Minnis spoke at a Garden Hills Association meeting, while party leader Michael Pintard addressed the Centerville Association.

At one of the meetings, Bannister said voices need to be heard, Dr. Minnis’ in particular.

When asked about the state of the party, Bannister suggested disagreements aren’t unusual.
