UK Collaborating to Bring More Bahamian Kids to Sailing

EXUMA, BAHAMAS – The Exuma Regatta has some special guests this year as the British High commission invited representatives from the Royal Yachting Association to explore opportunities in collaborating on our new national sport, sailing.

British High Commissioner Thomas Hartley, tells us work is already underway to help more Bahamian children discover the sport, especially a demographic often underrepresented in the sport but they hope more opportunities can come, working with the Royal Yachting Association.

Director of Sport Development at the Royal Yachting Association Rob Clark has helped train over a million young British sailors in the last ten years.

Nick Scott, Director of Racing at the Royal Yachting Association says there is a lot the two countries can learn from each other, noting the immense community engagement and enthusiasm we have here at home.
