NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The police commissioner provided an update on where they are with several recent murders.

He gave the update as he released crime stats for the first quarter of the year.

On April 20 the body of Yinka Strachan was found with a gunshot wound in the South Beach Canal.

Commissioner of Police Clayton Fernander says like the Ross Corner double homicide, it is believed that the incident is a result of domestic violence.

In the wee hours of Saturday morning two brothers were gunned down in Marathon near the Solomons Food Store.

Police say they have four individuals in custody and are searching for Omar Thompson Jr as a person of interest connected to the incident.

Fernander says the two brothers were cut off by assailants as they travelled home.

Then just before 10am Saturday police were called to Stapledon Gardens where a man was found with gunshot wounds.

The victim, identified as Claud Perry, was leaving a home after visiting a female friend when he was approached and shot as he entered his vehicle.
