NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Minister of National Security Wayne Munroe revealing the government’s four-point strategy to address crime while also calling for public involvement in addressing the vexing issue.
NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Minister of National Security Wayne Munroe revealing the government’s four-point strategy to address crime while also calling for public involvement in addressing the vexing issue.
The minister accepted that crime will always be a part of society, and while it may never be eradicated, he says it could be addressed and mitigated.
The minister outlined the government’s plan to address the issue is a four-point plan.
Munroe, who made the comments at this afternoon’s Rotary Club of West Nassau meeting, explaining that in prison, recruitment can be quite easy for gangs as they offer young men protection or other incentives in prison.
When it comes to rehabilitation, he says this is where the public partnership comes in.
He’s calling for more upstanding residents to visit prisons.
Minister Munroe noted that criminals are now becoming younger and younger and he is calling on the village mentality of raising a child to return to the nation.
